At CPS Global, we call the distance between dreams and reality, action. So, what kind of action can probably lead our students in transforming their aspirations into achievements. We encourage students to take College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) in Grade XI, a rigorous academic program that gives an opportunity to take university level courses while still in secondary school.
Since 1955, the AP Program has enabled millions of students to take undergraduate-level courses and earn college credits before even stepping into tertiary education. Nearly all colleges and universities in the United States and Canada – as well as more than 700 universities worldwide grant credit and placement for qualifying AP scores. Most universities also acknowledge course participation, regardless of AP score, favourably in the admission process. Click here to access the list of Universities around the world offering AP credits.
Rigorous AP courses not only introduce students to college-level academics, but also offer an opportunity for mass credits before high school graduation – ostensibly saving money on college in the long run. Here are some of its profound advantages:
CPS Global School (Centre Code – 671542) is an authorised AP Test Centre in Chennai. Registrations for AP typically run from October through November and AP Exams are administered once every year during the first two-three weeks of May. Registration in the Fall (September Session) prior to the testing year is strongly recommended to ensure students have time to prepare.
‘Thinking and working mathematically’, a unique feature of the Cambridge Primary curriculum, encourages learners to talk with others, challenge ideas and to provide evidence that validates conjectures and solutions. When learners are thinking and working mathematically, they actively seek to make sense of ideas and build connections between different facts, procedures and concepts. This supports higher order thinking that helps them to view the world in a mathematical way.
The 2022 AP Exams will be administered as paper-and-pencil exams only over two weeks in May: May 2 – 6 and May 9 – 13. Early testing or testing at times other than those published by AP is not permitted under any circumstances.
Our center currently does not offer AP Exams that require additional equipment or that have a course portfolio component (language exams, Music Theory, Art and Design, Seminar and Research). Below is a list of the exams that we offer:
