“It is better to debate a question without settling it, than to settle a question without debating it”

by Joseph Joubert

The MUN fever begins for CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai!!!
It was one of the proudest moments when forty of our students participated in the first chapter of
“CPS Prime MUN”, 2022. With many first timers among our delegation, it was preparations galore
the weeks prior to the D Day. Frantic research for the pressing agendas and attending familiarisation
sessions on the MUN procedures and protocols marked the preparations. Both the days of the MUN
saw active participation from our students. It was a pleasure to watch them debate decisively and
press to have their motions passed by the Chairpersons of the various committees. Four of our
students were recognised for their outstanding contributions and received the following awards-
Sahana of IBYR1 – ‘Best position paper’ on the ‘Israel – Palestine conflict’ in the UNGA forum,
Harpita Pandian of IBYR1 High commendation in UNCSW committee, Ananya Karn of IBYR2 for ‘Best
Photography’ and Nithin of IBYR2 for ‘Best Journalist’ in ‘IP Journalism and Photography’ forum
respectively. One of our own students Rohith Raman of IBYR2 presided over UNHRC as the co-chair
and displayed exemplary professionalism. A special mention for Abhinand of IBYR1, a first time MUN
participant and delegate representing USA in the UNSC for his commendable efforts in raising a
motion to abolish veto which was successfully passed. It’s the first of many MUN’ s to come and we
at CPS Global, TMZ are committed and motivated to provide opportunities for our learners which
will lead them to a path of being responsible ‘Global Citizens’.
