Joyful Christmas Spirit @ CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai

Written by cpsglobalblog

“The Joy of brightening other lives, bearing each others’ burdens, easing each other’s loads, and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of the holidays.” –W. C. Jones

Nothing rings truer at CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, where students and teachers gathered to celebrate the holiday season, and close out the year with all revelry. The Christmas assembly, organized and executed fantastically by the IBDP Year 1 students, hosted by Nimalan and Mathangi, was filled to the brim with fun activities and refreshing performances. The tiny tots of ELP brightened our day with their enthusiastic carols, followed by a meaningful skit from primary school students on the importance of being nice through a sincere plot where an elf reporter talks about the spirit of Christmas. Afterwards, Aadila and Aditi of IBDP Year 1 conducted a very entertaining and joy filled quiz of “Guess the Emoji: The Winter Edition” where students as well as faculty were invited to guess the Christmas movie or song with the help of a set of emojis that vaguely described them. The audience was thrilled by the challenge and had to replace their Christmas caps with thinking hats!!!

The assembly was not just about celebrating the Christmas spirit but also celebrating the success of our young entrepreneurs, Harpita and Harpith Pandian of IGCSE Year 2, for receiving the Top 100 Child Prodigies of the World award and their associated achievements. The young entrepreneurs shared insight about their journey, and their experiences of being co-founders of their company, Classminds.

Earlier this month, many students partook in Taal and Tarangini, the annual interhouse music and dance competition. The competition’s much-awaited results were finally announced during the assembly and the audience was blown away by the talent of our students. Talent, however, is not restricted to just the students; our faculty had prepared an exemplary carol performance, showcasing their vocals.

In the true Christmas fashion, IBDP Year 1 had developed an animal-themed calendar for their CAS project, where all the proceeds go towards the conservation of endangered species. Ananya of IBDP Year 1 thoroughly explained the thought behind the project and encouraged students and teachers to contribute to this meaningful cause.

From our class to yours, we hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Aadila Zakir Hussain and Shreya Ananda Thirtha of IBDP Year
