A digraph is a combination of two letters that together represent one sound. It’s a fundamental concept in phonics instruction, helping young learners understand how letters can work together to create specific sounds.
Our learners of EY3 reinforced the recognition of ‘sh’ digraphs through a fun and interactive game. A collection of pictures of sh words were stuck on a puzzle mat. Each child had to toss a ball at the words on the mat. They had to read aloud the word that they hit.
This activity helped the children develop their phonemic awareness and decoding skills while having fun exploring “sh” words.Toss and Spot ‘sh’ Digraph
