A ticker tape diagram is a tool used in physics that records and measures an object’s motion using marks on a tape. The learners fastened a lengthy piece of tape to a moving object (trolley/ a toy car) and fed through a machine that makes an impression or “tick” on it at predetermined intervals (for example, every 0.1 or 0.2 seconds).and recorded the motion of the object as a line of dots on the tape.
The lengths between the dots can be calculated to determine how far the object moved every 0.1 or 0.2 seconds and looking closely, the type of motion that took place can also be determined.
