Our CIE 1 students had a fantastic time discovering rocks by crafting their own rock models with clay! This interactive activity gave them a hands-on approach exploring different rock types and textures in a playful and inventive way.
Each child used colorful clay to mold their rock creations. They created what they learned : hard rocks, layered rocks, and changed rocks. The children shaped their clay into various textures: some created rough, bumpy surfaces to represent layered rocks, while others fashioned smooth, shiny finishes for hard rocks. A few even combined different textures, such as porous and polished, to illustrate changed rocks.
As they worked on their models, students discussed how each rock type is formed. This creative activity not only deepened their understanding of rock formation and textures but also fostered happy learning through hands-on creativity. By making their own rock models, students gained a greater appreciation for the diverse world of rocks and their unique characteristics.
