“Words, when well chosen, have so great a force in them, that a description often gives us more lively ideas than the sight of things themselves” – Author: Joseph Addison

What are sight words? Sight words are high-frequency words, core words or even popcorn words   that are used most often in reading and writing.

Our young learners listened to the sight words and hunted for that word throughout the class. This exercise will make them commit  those words for life. Inquirers framed sentences applying those sight words. By the end of the week our word banks have grown fat and our children word wise! As Kate Dicamillo said ,Reading should not be presented to children as a chore, a duty. It should be offered as a gift. This comes true when the children develop confidence with vocabulary.
