Students of CIE 4C conducted an experiment to demonstrate that vibrations can travel through different mediums. They began by tightly stretching a cling film over a ceramic jar and sprinkling few grains of rice on top. The students then took turns generating sound by clapping their hands and striking the cardboard box with a wooden spoon near the rice grains.
Additionally, they tapped the container with a pencil to observe any changes. They noticed that the rice grains jumped on the cling film, providing clear evidence that vibrations can indeed travel through various mediums.
