The students of CPS Global School Thirumazhisai celebrated Bakrid by conducting a
special assembly on the 8 th of July, 2022. The assembly commenced with the
recitation of the school prayer by Mathangi of IB Year 2 followed by the
pronouncement of a verse from Quran which was invoked through a Namaz by
Mohamed Raahil of IB Year 2. The soft baritone voice of Raahil that was streamed
through the online pathway across the school maintaining the Covid protocols
resonated the unconditional love and faith of Prophet Ibrahim towards God.

Followed by this session of benediction, Aadithyah Jain of IB Year 1 delivered the
significance of Global Forgiveness day which was observed on the 7 th of July every
year. The IB Year 1 students came up with a highly entertaining Quiz program
wherein the questions have been meticulously collected from the previous day’s
edition of NIE (Newspaper in Eductaion). It was a child’s play for the students who
keep an eye for reading the contents from NIE on a regular basis, whereas for
others, it was a moment of introspection for mulling over about the reasons which
prevented them from flipping through the pages of NIE, unlike their peers who
received a thunderous applause for their dutiful participation in the quiz.

The event
that followed post the quiz was the Puzzle on Eid where the pictures of Eid have
been painstakingly jumbled and the audience were made to guess the pictures, the
active involvement of the students in guessing the pictures correctly despite being
followers of varied religions reverberated the true essence with which the country is
built, that is the unity in diversity of India. As celebrations are never complete without
a crooning of a song, the IBDP Year 1 and Year 2 students joined hands in rendering
the mellifluous number, heal the world whose lyrics found more sense in the present
time and its state of affairs.

This was followed by the felicitation of the facilitators, Ms.
Swrnalatha and Mr. Ranganathan by our beloved Head of School, Ms Jayu Ganesh
on being recognised and appreciated by the IAYP (International Award for Young
People) for their outstanding contribution in empowering young people during the
pandemic year of 2020-21.

The Head of School in her address wished the students
a Happy Bakrid and presented the shield and heaped praises over Ms. Swrnlatha and Mr. Ranganathan for their active involvement even at the times of despair during
the pandemic and also congratulated the students who participated in the assembly,
and specially appreciated the ones who came up with innovative ideas in the form of
quiz that would pave way for the students to check the pages of the NIE to at least
proudly display their knowledge amongst the peers during the next special assembly
that stood testament to the popular verse by Robert F. Kennedy that states, “I think
there is an obligation on the part of all of us to stay informed and aware.”
