The campus vibrated with rhythm and energy as the DP 2 students successfully hosted a spectacular special assembly to celebrate International Music Day. The event beautifully showcased the musical talents of our seniors while engaging the entire school community in creative, melody-driven activities. The assembly kicked off with a captivating opening performance by Darshan on the guitar and Chaw Su on vocals. Their soulful collaboration set a perfect, melodic tone for the day. Following this, Nandana and Bhavana took the stage to host “KYT: Know Your Tune.” This high-stakes guessing game challenged students to identify songs from mere five-second clips played from the middle of the tracks. With only four attempts allowed, the audience eagerly shouted out guesses, creating an atmosphere of intense excitement. Next, the crowd was left spellbound by an instrumental performance from Tanish, who delivered a lightning-fast, high-energy rendition of the notoriously difficult piece, “Rush E,” on the keyboard. Transitioning from instrumental brilliance to theatrical fun, Aaradhana and Kushal conducted a “Musical Mime” activity for Grades 9 and 10. Given just one minute to prepare, the participants delivered hilarious 10-second silent acts backed by comical background music, leaving everyone in splits. The memorable morning concluded with two stellar, back-to-back singing performances. Darshana first mesmerised the audience with her beautiful vocals, followed by an equally stunning closing performance by Taneesha. The DP 2 students deserve immense praise for organizing a flawless event that perfectly united the school through the universal language of music.
