Students Club Session @ CPSGS ANN

On the 1st of August, the Students Club session at our school embarked on a fascinating journey beyond textbooks. This year, we had introduced some more choices with Math, Programming, Science and Psychology club along with our regular SEEDS club which had Diplomats circle, Aura Team, Money manager, Stock Market Game and Law society. Below is the glimpse of the first Student led club sessions of this academic year.

In  the Math Club session students dived into the enigmatic world of cryptography, led by Unnati Goenka, a first-year student in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The evening commenced with members warmly introducing themselves, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and intellectual curiosity.

Unnati, our erudite presenter, delved into the intricate realm of cryptography. She illuminated the club with insights into various cryptographic techniques, ranging from ancient ciphers to modern encryption algorithms. The session was not just about theory; it was a hands-on experience. Members had the opportunity to encrypt and decrypt messages, unveiling the secrets hidden within the coded words.

The engagement level was off the charts, with members actively participating and demonstrating their newfound skills. The Math Club’s foray into cryptography was a resounding success, a testament to the power of learning and collaboration. It was a day when numbers and letters converged, making mathematics an exciting, real-world adventure.

In the Science Club Session, a captivating activity was organised by Aman, Arya, Akshay K., Kaustubh, Aryan, and Surya of A level- they took the stage as they delved into the mesmerizing world of Flame Tests. The students revelled in hands-on experiments, witnessing a vivid display of colours as various salts were introduced to open flames. The session began with a thought-provoking video, setting the tone for the exciting venture. An icebreaker activity forged bonds, while in-depth discussions on the science behind flame tests enriched their knowledge. It was a thrilling journey into the realm of chemistry, leaving the young scientists eager for more.

In the SEEDS Club Session, a captivating Diplomats Circle discussion was organised by Dhiya Nainar of A level, After the introduction of diplomats circles agenda to explore the world as diplomats, and what it could offer them as an individual. They then learnt about the two child policy system in India and engaged in an informal discussion regarding the same. Then, the went into a formal debate taking sides on whether India should adopt the policy or not. In the end, the diplomats learnt how formal debates work and learned how to improve their public speaking.

In the Programming Club session, participants experienced an intellectually stimulating session led by Shashwath, of IGCSE Yr 2. The topic, “Evolution of Computing,” held an air of intrigue, drawing members into the fascinating world of technology. The session commenced with the customary self-introductions, fostering camaraderie among the participants.

As the session unfolded, the discussion delved into the historical and revolutionary journey of computing devices, from their rudimentary beginnings to the advanced technology we have today. To further engage the curious minds, Shashwat led the members through the intriguing process of encryption and decryption, allowing them to exchange coded messages.

The proactive participation and genuine interest of the club members created an electric atmosphere. This ICT Club activity not only enriched their knowledge but also nurtured a passion for technology and the ever-evolving world of computing. It was an exceptionally engaging session that left everyone eagerly anticipating more enlightening sessions in the future.
