Promoting Road Safety: A CAS Initiative in Collaboration with GVK

Written by cpsglobalblog

On the 2nd of March, the students of IBDP1 delivered a program focused on Road Safety and Awareness, specifically tailored for the drivers of their school. This initiative was part of their Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) project and also tied into their involvement with Yi Thalir. For this event, they partnered with the esteemed GVK team, one of India’s leading professional emergency service providers, known for their commitment to saving lives and enhancing public safety.

The program commenced with an engaging mime performance presented by the IBDP1 students. Through this creative expression, they vividly illustrated critical issues such as the dangers of distracted driving—particularly the use of mobile phones behind the wheel—the severe repercussions of drunk driving, and the hazards associated with reckless driving behaviors. This act served not only to entertain but also to emphasize the real-life consequences of such irresponsible actions.

Following the performance, the GVK team took the stage to provide a session on essential life-saving skills. They demonstrated how to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and explained the proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This segment of the program was particularly informative, as it equipped the attendees with practical skills that can be crucial in emergency situations, reinforcing the theme of safety both on the road and in broader contexts.

Overall, the collaboration between the IBDP1 students and GVK empowered the drivers with the knowledge and tools necessary to make informed decisions on the road.
