Teachers of CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai had a meaningful and refreshing session on self-reflection with Mr. Varindhar Singh Sahney, a social change maker, a trainer by passion. The two-hour session focused on something very important—understanding ourselves better. It helped us pause, think deeply about what truly matters, and learn how to make better choices in life. In our busy schedules as educators , we often forget to do this, simply going with the flow and forgetting to return to who we really are. Today’s session reminded us to come back home to ourselves.
Right from the start, Mr. Varindhar impressed everyone with his fluent Tamil and had us completely engaged. He began with the story of a shark in a tank, teaching us that we all need something that pushes us forward in life. He then gave us the most valuable gift—time to reflect on ourselves. We shared light-hearted stories about why we chose this profession, what inspires us, and how being our best selves helps us both in our personal and professional lives.
The highlight of the session was an activity where we had to write down four of our favourite people, memories, material possessions, places and personal goals. Slowly, we had to eliminate the least important ones until only three remained—the things that truly define us. This simple yet powerful exercise made us realise what we value most in life.
To end the session on a cheerful note, Mr. Varindhar taught us some Bhangra steps. With this heartfelt experience, CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai wraps up the academic year with gratitude, hope and a strong mindset to continue growing and becoming our best.
