Placing the Pals in Positions @ CPS GS, ANN

Written by cpsglobalblog
Ordinal numbers help us communicate the order of objects in a series. They are also referred to as positioning or ranking numbers.
Children of EY2 were taught the ordinal numbers 1 to 10 and an exhilarating activity was done to help them apply the concept.
Chaos, excitement, concept application, energy and fun was seen in EY2A, when our kiddos were on their toes positioning their pals in a random order created by them within the stipulated time. They werr divided into two action groups- the Positional group – to be placed in the positions and the Placing group – to place in the positions. The timer was the most challenging element for them.
The children were excited to learn ordinal numbers through this activity and each child participated actively and learnt the names of ordinal numbers and how to apply them in life with their pals.
