“An equation for me has no meaning, unless it expresses a thought of God”
– Srinivasa Ramanujan
On December 20, 2024, CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, celebrated National Math Day with enthusiasm and creativity. Students from CIE 1 to DP 2 participated in activities exploring numbers, fractions, algebra, geometry, line symmetry, and axioms. The festive spirit was amplified as math intertwined with Christmas themes in students’ projects.
A special assembly honored the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, inspiring students with his remarkable contributions to mathematics. Highlights included a numeric song by young learners, a video on Ramanujan’s life, the “Galaxy Brain” model with swirling notations, and Mathletics, which tested analytical and logical reasoning skills.
An online session enhanced IGCSE and IBDP students’ proficiency with the TI Graphical Display Calculator. Earlier in the week, students showcased their mathematical skills globally through the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO).
The event reinforced math’s importance in everyday life and inspired a renewed love for learning among students.
