With this powerful thought guiding the way, CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai organized the SIMILO 2024, the annual science fest to foster a resurgence of scientific curiosity —“Clean Energy, Green Future”—unveiled an inspiring showcase of innovation, creativity, and determination to combat climate change. The event brought together young minds and passionate individuals eager to explore the endless possibilities of clean and green energy, reinforce the belief that sustainability is not just a goal but a necessity for our survival. Students from classes CIE6 to DP1 participated showcasing their skills and scientific working models based on various scientific concepts.

The exhibition featured an array of projects aimed at addressing the pressing need for sustainable energy solutions. From solar-powered innovations to wind turbines and bioenergy systems, each exhibit was a testament to the creativity and ingenuity of the participants. The core message resonated throughout the event: the shift from non-renewable resources to clean, renewable energy sources is not just necessary but achievable.

Solar energy stole the spotlight with projects demonstrating efficient photovoltaic cells, solar-powered water heaters, and portable solar chargers.
A remarkable project showcased a hybrid solar-wind system designed to maximize energy output even during cloudy days.

Models of miniature wind turbines and hydroelectric setups captivated the audience, highlighting the potential of these natural resources. Students displayed ingenious solutions like floating turbines for ocean currents and vertical-axis wind turbines optimized for urban settings. Moreover, the concept of ocean acidification and its potential remedies was one of the most captivating topics, skillfully explained by the students of CIE6.

Several exhibits focused on turning organic waste into bioenergy. From biogas generators to biofuel extraction methods, these projects emphasized the dual benefit of waste management and energy production.

With electric vehicles (EVs) being the future of transportation, students presented EV prototypes and solar-powered charging stations. These projects illustrated how renewable energy could seamlessly integrate into daily life.

The exhibition also hosted workshops on energy conservation, DIY renewable energy projects, and the basics of setting up solar panels at home. An interactive zone allowed visitors to simulate the working of wind turbines and solar grids, providing hands-on learning experiences for all ages. The event underscored the importance of collaboration in achieving energy sustainability. It inspired attendees to think critically about their energy consumption and encouraged them to adopt eco-friendly practices.
