It’s been a LOOONG vowel Day! @ CPSGS, ANN

Long vowel’ is the term used to refer to vowel sounds whose pronunciation is the same as its letter name. When there are two vowel sounds in a word, which one do you pronounce and how does it sound?  How does a CUB become a CUBE?  Or RAT a RATE? Two vowels in a word which says what? So many questions but one simple answer. This kindergarten reading boggler is a cake walk with an alternative approach. Children of EY3 played a game of ‘spin the wheel and read aloud ‘to easily figure this out. Children awaited their turn patiently, and had a challenging spin with a set of long and short vowel sounds.
