Hunt the sound! @ CPS GS, ANN

Written by cpsglobalblog

Sounds and movement provide children with so many benefits. Without sound and movement in early childhood education, a child’s learning is incomplete, it is critically important to the way children learn about their world to focus on their language and motor skills. So they describe sound as an, ‘Unsung hero in child development’.

As a part of it we encouraged them to explore sounds by using various objects like shaking containers filled with grains, beads and water, tapping the table & wall and plastic plates. They also heard the sounds of the animals, ringing bell, opening and closing the door etc. and also we took them out on a nature walk to explore different sounds in environment like vehicle sound, birds chirping and leaves rustling in the wind and as an activity we made a paper cup music maker. We played a mixture of audios and ask them to find out the sounds of waves and vibrations. They all enjoyed playing instruments and created their own music.
