The one who is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher and a little bit best friend – Grandparent; nani/nana; dadi/dada; patti/thatha; ammamma/thatha – these are the so beloved names for every grandchild. Grandparents are like fairies and heroes. Their magical charm is – hugs and feel better pills are -kisses. On 26th August, 2022 CPS Global School honoured the older generation – grandparents on the occasion of Grandparents’ Day to sensitize our Little Learners about the strength, information, comfort and guidance the beloved older people of our families can offer. Respect, discipline, empathy, care, connect to our roots are some of the grand core values they offer to the younger generation.
The event has begun with a warm welcome note and a cute song sung by our students for the grandparents. The grandparents have been encouraged to come forth to share some joyful moments of their school days to which the response was overwhelming. A few of them have compared the schooling days then and now; and a few of them have revealed the admiring heroes of their life – their first teachers; and a few of them have recited their favourite Nursery rhymes of their times.
The event proceeded further with a sporting enthusiasm by trying their hands at ornament making with pasta; pyramid building; balloon blowing; They have fondly reminisced the magical tunes of their times while taking part in the activity – A tune down the memory lane….; They have been so pleased to see the take aways made by their grandchildren with love and have accepted it in pride.
Feelings of respect, recognition, happiness, pride, belongingness, care, gratitude have filled in the air at the end of the event.
