Empowering Change: DP-1 Students Lead Clothes Donation Drive for Climate Action

Written by cpsglobalblog

Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action, DP-1 students of CPS Global School Thirumazhisai recently led a clothes donation drive promoting sustainability and supporting local communities. In the month-long drive, students across various grades in the school generously donated clothes for different age groups of children. The clothes were systematically organized age wise after carefully screening their condition. On November 8, 2024, representatives from DP-1 visited Siragu Montessori School in Palavedu to hand over the collected items, taking a meaningful step toward environmental and social impact.

This project was conducted in partnership with Ms. Uma, the founder of Siragu Montessori School and Suyam Trust, who has created a nurturing learning environment. The school’s initiatives underscored how resource reuse can create positive change for both people and the planet. The visit offered students a unique perspective on the connections between climate action and community involvement. Guided by their CAS teacher, students gained valuable insights into sustainability and collective well-being. This drive was a reminder that small contributions can further lead us to achieve larger environmental goals as quoted in SDG 13. We hope this initiative inspires others to adopt sustainable practices for environmental and social progress.
