Our early years classroom recently had a delightful activity called “Towering T,” where our young learners dove into identifying the letter “T” and discovering words that begin with its sound. To make the lesson fun and interactive, we started by examining the shape of “T,” pointing out its straight lines and practicing its formation. Then, we moved on to a word hunt, where children eagerly identified everyday objects and words beginning with “T,” like “tiger,” “tree,” “toy,” and “train.” Using these familiar items, students worked together to build a “T-Tower” display, each block labeled with a word starting with “T.” This hands-on activity made letter recognition engaging and meaningful, reinforcing the connection between letters, sounds, and vocabulary in a playful yet educational way.
