An Evening to Remember: Young Astronomers Capture a Planetary Parade!

On 10th February 2025, CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, organized a special astrophotography session for its young astronomers, offering them a rare celestial treat. As part of the school’s astronomy outreach program, students observed a stunning planetary parade, with Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and the Moon aligning in the night sky.

Led by expert astronomers and space educators, the session guided students through planetary motion, alignment, and astrophotography techniques. Armed with telescopes, DSLR cameras, and mobile setups, participants captured breathtaking images of the planetary lineup.

The session included interactive discussions on the significance of planetary alignments and their impact on space exploration. Students also learned about long-exposure photography and smartphone adaptations for astrophotography. The excitement reached its peak when students successfully photographed Jupiter’s moons, sparking enthusiasm for space science.

This event not only enriched the students’ understanding of the cosmos but also fuelled their passion for astronomy. CPS Global School continues to inspire young minds by providing hands-on experiences, ensuring the next generation stays curious about the universe. Future observation sessions, including deep-sky explorations, are already in the works, further nurturing the students’ interest in space science.
