A Harvest of Joy: Celebrating Pongal, Sankranti, and Lohri @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

“The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals.”

The Early Years segment came alive with vibrant Pongal, Makar Sankranti, and Lohri celebrations. Dressed in colorful traditional attire, the children sang melodious songs that beautifully captured the essence of gratitude and joy these harvest festivals bring. Their cheerful voices resonated with these celebrations’ spirit of unity and prosperity.

Beyond the festivities, the children learned about the significance of these festivals—Pongal’s tribute to nature, Makar Sankranti’s connection to the sun’s journey, and Lohri’s joyful farewell to winter. Through stories and activities, they embraced the cultural richness of these traditions, fostering a sense of appreciation for diversity and shared heritage.
