The excitement was palpable as we boarded the bus to our destination: Farm Guru. This wasn’t just any farm; it was an educational haven, designed to teach city dwellers like us about sustainable agriculture, animal husbandry, and the origins of the food we consume daily. We were wondering if we would enjoy getting dirty, after all field trips are supposed to be fun!!
As we pulled into the driveway of Farm Guru, the sprawling fields and the fresh, earthy smell immediately greeted us. It was time to get our hands and feet dirty as we stepped into the field and sowed a few seeds and planted in the field. we got to experience how ploughing is done using cows.
An interactive session with Mr. Sesha M Sai, founder of Farm Guru explained how organic farming is done. Farm Guru is not just about traditional farming; it’s a model of sustainability. As our day at Farm Guru came to a close, we reflected on our experiences. CPS Global School has this practice of reflection and we thankful to just rewind the day!
Students were struck by the complexity and dedication required to run a sustainable farm. They gained a newfound respect for farmers and a deeper understanding of where our food comes from.
Our field trip to Farm Guru was more than just a break from routine; it was an eye-opening educational experience that brought us closer to nature and taught us the value of sustainable living. Most importantly, we left with a renewed appreciation for the hard work that goes into feeding our world.
Here are a few reflections from all of us! Collectively they resonate our thoughts and gratitude.
