Writing clear and effective instructions is an essential skill, and our enthusiastic Grade 3 students recently took on this challenge with creativity and excitement! In a fun and engaging activity, the young learners explored the key features of instruction texts and put their knowledge into practice by writing their very own set of instructions.
The activity began with a discussion on the essential elements of instruction writing — title, goal, materials list, and step-by-step directions using time connectives and imperative verbs. With these features in mind, the students eagerly chose topics of their own and crafted it. This hands-on approach not only reinforced their learning but also made the activity even more enjoyable.
