Our first graders recently enjoyed a fun activity to learn about caring for our environment by watering the plants around our school. With enthusiasm, they set out with watering cans, ready to help our green friends grow.
Each student was given the task of watering different plants. They noticed that some plants had dry soil and needed a drink, while others were already moist. The children took turns pouring water gently around the plants’ bases, making sure not to splash the leaves.
Through this hands-on activity, the students learned that plants, like people, need water to stay healthy. They discovered how important it is to water plants properly and saw how happy and refreshed the plants looked after their drink. By giving plants the water they need, we keep our school grounds beautiful and green. It was a delightful way for the students to understand that even small actions, like watering plants, can make a big difference in taking care of our world.
