Eternal curiosity surrounding the universe has captivated mankind since time immemorial. From the Stone Age to the digital age, the enigmatic principles that govern the dynamics of the universe continue to elude us. Embarking on an awe-inspiring cosmic journey, CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, in collaboration with Space India, organized a mesmerizing Astronomy Club orientation on 01 July 2023, designed to ignite the minds of their students. The participants, filled with enthusiasm, were students from CAIE 6- IG 1 who eagerly delved into the mysteries of the universe through captivating activities like meteor making and hydro rocketry.
During the meteor making session, students were afforded the unique opportunity to witness a fascinating demonstration of meteor creation, allowing them to delve into the profound science behind these celestial phenomena. They explored the composition, impact, and significance of meteors, nurturing their scientific temperament and fostering creative thinking.
In the hydro rocketry workshop, students embarked on an exhilarating exploration of rocket propulsion and engineering. Through hands-on experience, they had the thrill of launching their own hydro rockets, marvelling at the powerful combination of water and air pressure propelling their creations into the boundless sky. This engaging practical engagement not only enhanced their critical thinking skills but also ignited a lasting passion for scientific exploration.
The interactive session served as a profound source of inspiration, guiding the young minds on their quest for knowledge and igniting a relentless curiosity about the vast wonders of the universe. It resonated with the words of Rachel Carson, who beautifully stated, “The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe, the less taste we shall have for destruction.”
