Understanding Electrical Components and Series Circuits @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

Electrical circuits form the backbone of many devices and systems we use daily. A fundamental understanding of the components and the way they interact in different configurations is essential for anyone delving into electronics. Students of IG Yr-2 explored various electrical components as they delve into the construction and behaviour of a series circuit. Through this practical session students understand through series circuits, where components are connected end-to-end, demonstrate how individual resistances add up to create a higher total resistance. One key concept is how the total resistance in a series circuit is higher than the resistance of any individual resistor within that circuit. This fundamental knowledge is essential for designing and troubleshooting electrical circuits. This can be given with an analogue. If you imagine water flowing through a pipe, a series circuit is like having multiple narrow sections (resistors) in that pipe. Each narrow section adds more resistance to the flow of water.
