Towers and Block @ CPSGS ANN

Written by cpsglobalblog

Place value is important as it builds the foundation for every maths concept within your child’s learning throughout their whole schooling career.
Place value is essential as it is important that children understand the value of a digit in a number. They need to learn that even though the digit is the same, its value can be different depending on its position. Place value is important as it allows children to add, subtract, multiply, and divide effectively and is key when learning about money as place value enables children to understand the true value of money. By using lots of hands-on place value activities featuring concrete

materials and manipulatives, teaching place value can be made fun.

Today our EY 3 children teamed up to build ten towers and blocks using big puzzle blocks for the numbers displayed. The enthusiasm displayed by the children is worth a mention.
