Have you ever thought about why the slides are made of plastic rather than another material?
Here are our EY3 students exploring various materials such as corrugated sheets, plastic, bubble wrap covers, cloth, metals, and so on, with varying textures such as soft, rough, and smooth.
Here are our EY3 students exploring various materials such as corrugated sheets, plastic, bubble wrap covers, cloth, metals, and so on, with varying textures such as soft, rough, and smooth.
They explored them through touch and feel, understanding the texture of the materials. They also experimented with various objects such as balls, blocks, and cars, causing them to slide on the aforementioned materials. They discovered which had more friction and which slid slowly. Through this experiment, the students concluded that plastic is appropriate for making slides.
This hands-on experiment allowed the students to explore the various materials and their applications.
