Seeds – Diplomats Circle – Session 2 @ CPSGS, ANN

Written by cpsglobalblog

On Tuesday, the 6th of December, the second session for Diplomats Circle was held. Secretary Rohan (A level) kicked off the session with an outline of the world’s most populous country in the world-China. The main agenda of the session was to discuss China’s One Belt One Road (OBOR) policy. The free flowing discussion led to many juniors voicing interesting opinions about economic welfare and the downsides of such a policy. Next, the crowd was kept engaged by all of them collectively watching “the world’s highest rated debate speech ever”, so the members could draw comparisons between them and the speaker itself. They understood that confidence, clarity of thought and evaluative points is what differentiates a good speech from a great one. Following this, five members were called upon the platform and were asked to give a short speech on their view about China’s OBOR policy and how this would reflect on not only China but the world as a whole. This power-packed session came to an end with Rohan summarizing the crucial takeaways from the discussion, which included the fast thinking process and confidence needed to win a debate.
