The enthusiasm and rigour with which today's generation innovate solutions for the problems
faced by the world are truly inspirational. As an opportunity to showcase such talent, V.I.B.E.S,
Vriddhi Interschool Business and Economics Symposium was hosted by Akshar Arbol
International School (AAIS). Themed “Why is economic development uneven?” this event
presented itself as the perfect platform for young problem solvers, studying Economics,
Business, and other disciplines to explore various burning issues in the economic world through
presentations. The participants from 10 schools across the city had to correlate their chosen
topic to their views on how different countries have adopted the development plan.
The students of CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai had two teams representing them, and the
topics covered were “Do microfinance projects help alleviate the poverty in Bangladesh?”
And “Is the Health Programme/Education Programme In INDIA reaching the grassroots
levels?” Through the experience in the Business and Economics symposium, students could
exhibit their depth of knowledge and analysis of developmental economics and the role of
businesses in the same.
Our students participated the event with a competitive spirit, and presented their
opinions/theories with utmost confidence. And the outcome was evident! Paveena V of IBDP Yr
2 won the “Best Speaker” award and 3rd place in the “best team” category was awarded to
Ashwin S, Paveena V, Nithin S and Shreya A, all from IBDP YR 2. The other students who
participated were Harish R, Lakshya and Vamsi Sri, all from IBDP. It was a wonderful learning
opportunity for passionate learners and future world entrepreneurs.
