Our Grade 8A students recently participated in an engaging activity on plate movements. They analyzed images of different plate boundaries to identify the resulting disasters, such as volcanoes or earthquakes. By determining if the plates were sliding, colliding, or transforming, students learned why and how these natural events occur.
This hands-on activity highlighted the connection between plate tectonics and disasters, making it easier for learners to understand which types of plate boundaries lead to specific events. The students enjoyed a timed challenge to identify as many boundaries as possible, which made the learning process fun and interactive. This activity sparked their curiosity to further explore tectonic plate movements and the powerful forces shaping our planet.
