Our CAIE 4 learners vividly showcased the link between sound and vibrations via an ingenious experiment.
Using rice grains on plastic wrap atop a jar, they tapped it gently, setting off captivating movement. This mirrored the vibrations, highlighting sound’s birth from motion. Another group used a wooden spoon to strike a tray near rice grains, intensifying vibrations and sound. Clapping nearby evoked the same response, affirming vibrations’ ability to traverse and create sound.
Through this hands-on exploration, learners grasped the profound connection between vibrations and sound, unveiling the captivating journey of auditory phenomena.
