“A well prepared and engaging teacher is a catalyst… a spark that creates the desire to learn in our students.” – Robert John Meehan
It’s just as thrilling for facilitators as it is for students to start a new school year. The facilitators’ anticipation of the upcoming academic year can be both exhilarating and overwhelming. They will have to learn about curriculum, human resources policies, and information systems. Creating a strong teacher induction programme may facilitate the transfer for both new and existing staff, giving them the time, relationships, and support they need to succeed.
“Induction programme” is an umbrella term that refers to all of the measures taken to help teachers fit in with the school culture. We at CPSGS Thirumazhisai with able guidance from our Head of School Ms Jayu Ganesh had a great start of the new session with various programs for the new beginning. Meditation session conducted by our CAS Coordinator Ms Swarnalatha Ramesh will help all the facilitators gain a new perspective in a stressful situation. This was followed by icebreaking activity organized by Student counsellor Ms Uma Maheswari to ease the process of team-building. To enhance our teaching and learning we had an enriching workshop on the important topic ‘Optimizing the learning for all students- Differentiated Teaching Strategies’ , which we are sure to take to our classes.
These sessions are indeed integral for teachers to settle in and feel confident to begin the year.
