Raman on being conferred with the Nobel Prize for his contribution to Physics in
1930. CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai on the 6 th of February unveiled the theme
of SIMILO 2023, the annual science fest conducted to commemorate the National
Science day through a special assembly. This year, the event was presided over by
Mrs. Sheela Chacko, Diploma Program Coordinator and Chemistry Facilitator at
Christ Junior College, Bangalore whose invigorating session on the omnipresence of
science kindled the scientific fervour amongst the students. The speaker’s interactive
approach alongside emphasizing the need to stay vigilante of the scientific
advancements the world sophisticates itself stroke a chord with the students as they
persistently hopped on to grab a hold of the mike and consistently amazed the crowd
with their intuitiveness towards science all through the session. The speaker left a
mark with the students for her non-conventional way of delivering the thoughts which
kept the students on their toes during the session. The Head of School, Ms. Jayu
Ganesh in her address urged the students to appreciate science by not just
experiencing the sophistication it offers, but also insisted on staying insightful about
its working through wholly understanding its mechanism. The much anticipated
segment was initiated by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Sheela Chacko who unveiled the
theme for SIMILO 2023 which is Global Science for Global Wellbeing in the digital
platform amidst applause from the students. The emcee for the event presented the
list of activities and competitions scheduled throughout the month of February which
calls for students ‘constant and consistent efforts to emerge as successful
participants whose noteworthy contributions is to be felicitated during the SIMILO
2023 which is conducted on the National Science day for the year that falls on the
28 th of February, 2023.
