“Discover the joy of giving and you will discover the reason for living.”
-Mark Victor Hensen
The joy of giving is about cultivating a spirit of generosity and compassion. It involves looking beyond our individual needs and desires, recognizing the interconnectedness of humanity, and finding fulfillment in contributing to the well-being of others. The joy of giving is not limited to grand gestures; it can be found in the simplicity of everyday acts of kindness. A smile, a helping hand, or a thoughtful word has the potential to brighten someone’s day and create a positive impact. In these small but meaningful moments, the true essence of giving reveals itself, the connection forged between individuals, the shared humanity that binds us all.
The young learners of EY have discovered the joy of giving in different ways. EY 1 made a paper flower bouquet and gave it to their class helper.EY 2 children crafted a flower and gave it to their loved ones. The young learners of EY 3, made a heart-shaped greeting card and gave it to their loved ones expressing their gratitude of love towards them.
The learners were also encouraged to give food and other needy items to the people who are in need as a gesture of love towards them. The Celebration culminated with the children making beautiful posters to depict their understanding of the joy of giving and presenting their thoughts in front of the class.
The EY children understood that ‘ There is happiness in receiving, but joy in giving.’
