Energy content in Legume and Vegetable Investigated @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

A balanced meal has an optimal ratio of food groups, nutrients, colors, portions, and non-traditional proteins. A balanced diet comprises a wide variety of foods (sources of energy) in the right proportions, and consuming the right amount of food and drink water to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight. The energy content in vegetables and legumes was investigated by learners by burning the food samples in flame. The heat transfer to water in the boiling tube placed above the burnt food samples was measured using a thermometer to note the temperature rise. The measurement of energy contents in foods was calculated by noting the temperature difference. The learners interpreted that fats and proteins found in peanuts have the highest amount of energy content.
