“Detective Time: Who Left That Fingerprint?” @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

Have you ever wanted to become a detective and solve a mystery? Imagine finding a hidden clue left by someone, but it’s not just any clue; it’s a fingerprint! A fingerprint is like a secret message, a personal mark left by each person, and no two fingerprints are exactly alike. It’s like a code that tells you who left it behind!

In our Grade 1 class, we dived into the exciting world of fingerprints, exploring how they can help us uncover mysteries. To start, we stamped our fingerprints on balloons—yes, balloons! By carefully pressing our fingers onto the balloon, we created our unique marks, just like a detective would at a crime scene. Then, to make the mystery even more fun, we blew air into the balloon, making our fingerprints grow larger and easier to study. It was like magic!

Once our fingerprints were nice and big, we compared them to a reference fingerprint shown on the screen. It was like trying to find a match in a fingerprint detective game. Who’s fingerprint did we have? We discovered that each fingerprint has a special pattern, whether it’s an arch, a whorl, or a loop, and each person’s is different!

In the end, we were able to identify the secret “mysterious person” based on their fingerprint, and we even learnt which type of fingerprint we have. With a little imagination and fun, our class turned into a team of fingerprint detectives, unlocking the hidden messages left by the past!
