Tis the season to be jolly

Santa is coming to town!

That was the Yuletide spirit at CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai the whole of December. The reception lobby dazzled with the Nativity Scene and Christmas Tree to welcome one and all throughout the month with carols being sung by all students over different sections of the campus including CBSE school, dining hall, security area spreading the love and cheer of Christmas. Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. All students brought gift for their mates and a grand celebration ensued with class parties, exchanging of gifts before breaking for Christmas vacation. The ELP children also had their share of celebrations and singing in the reception lobby to the glee of one and all present. The teachers also had their share of enjoying being each other secret Santas for one whole week with the final reveal on 21st December after students’ dispersal with a lot fanfare. 

The entire month’s celebrations culminated with the quintessential special Christmas Assembly conducted by the student council members. The first segment was the celebration of Math Week and National Mathematics Day commemorating the birth anniversary of Ramanujan. All the mathemagicians were applauded for their endeavours and stupendous performances in the various activities. 

The intermediate segment was to laud all the musicians, vocalists and dancers of CPS Global School. The winners of the interhouse competitions of Taal and Tarangini were awarded certificates which kept the cheer of Christmas perpetually vibrating throughout the student community.

The final segment brought in the Yuletide cheer with the significance of Christmas followed by a beautiful skit depicting the scenes of the nativity of Jesus Christ displayed by the primary students. The ELP tiny tots were not to be overlooked who dazzled all by their dance moves to Christmas songs. The Christmas quiz got all on their feet trying to guess from where eggnog came or what are the names of Santa’s reindeers, or which country initiated the tradition of gifting. The teacher choir broke into impromptu performances of Christmas carols with all the entire audience joining in. The dazzling entry of Santa Claus added to the joy and excitement of the students and teachers alike. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children. It was a joyous and exuberant programme for everyone, with all brimming with smile as all waved to each other with the promise to return in the new year.
