Amidst the prominence of technology in our lives, the enduring delight of reading still shines brightly. On the occasion of Book Lover’s Day, CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai reverberated with the appreciation for literature, kindling the students’ love for books through a range of engaging activities. The day commenced with a special assembly led by IGCSE Year 1 students, where they illuminated the significance of reading. The event culminated in the unveiling of the inaugural edition of CPSGS Chronicles.
CAIE 1 & 3 students crafted charming bookmarks that not only showcased their creativity but also served as gateways to the enchanting realm of stories. Meanwhile, CAIE 8 students designed Literary Stamps inspired by the tales that deeply resonated with them. Not to be left behind, CAIE 1 students embarked on a journey of Visual Storytelling through a captivating short film titled “Let’s Eat” which was screened to them. The subsequent discussions delved beyond the surface, inspiring multifaceted perspectives and imaginative thinking.
CAIE 3 students undertook a collaborative story-building venture, where each contributed a sentence to weave a collective narrative. This endeavour fostered not only their creativity but also emphasized the power of teamwork. The inauguration of the Book Club marked a significant stride towards nurturing a reading culture. This initiative seeks to form a community of avid readers who can share, discuss, and explore literary treasures together.
In the spirit of Charles W. Eliot’s wisdom, ‘Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers,’ CPS Global School, TMZ, embarked on a mission to extend the joy of reading to those less privileged. With an understanding that access to books isn’t always equal, this endeavour resonates with the commitment to bridge gaps and forge connections through the enchantment of literature. Ultimately, CPS Global School, TMZ’s Book Lover’s Day blossomed into a triumphant celebration, a heartfelt ode to the timeless allure of books amidst the digital clamour. Through imaginative crafts, thought-provoking dialogues, collaborative storytelling, and compassionate initiatives, the day radiated the manifold facets of books, nurturing a shared journey of learning and empathy.
