Buzzing with Creativity: A Fun Day of Newspaper Article Exploration @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

The true purpose of learning is to put knowledge into action.

CIE  3 students took part in an exciting and hands-on learning activity that brought newspapers to life in the classroom. The day was filled with energy and enthusiasm as students actively participated in a Newspaper Article Activity designed to help them understand and identify the core elements of a newspaper article.

The classroom buzzed like a hive of busy bees, with children eagerly flipping through newspapers, searching for articles that caught their interest. They were tasked with not only reading but analyzing the structure of a news article – Headline, byline, Lead paragraph (who, what, when, where, why, how), body, quotation, photographs, and conclusion. Once they identified their favorite articles, they carefully cut them out and pasted them onto charts, creating their mini-newspaper.

This activity encouraged creativity, critical thinking, and attention to detail. By the end of the day, the students had not only learned about the format of a newspaper article but also developed a deeper understanding of how information is presented and shared with the world.
