Ordering numbers is not just for math class—it’s a skill we use all the time! Whether lining up for snack time or deciding which puzzle piece goes first, numbers help us stay organized and understand the world better. Our EY3 children learned to order numbers through fun activities. Using a staircase, they practiced ascending order (going up, small to big) and descending order (coming down, big to small).
In another activity, the children worked with paper cups labeled with different numbers. They practiced arranging the cups first in ascending order (smallest to largest) and then in descending order (largest to smallest). This hands-on exercise made number sequencing exciting and relatable, helping the children strengthen their understanding of ordering numbers.
These activities made learning fun and relatable. Parents can try similar games at home to strengthen these essential skills!
