Theatre has been an influential factor in our lives bringing in play, humour and
laughter to learning, building trust and motivating social interaction in the
process. Theatre allows us to flourish our creativity and enables development of
self expression. CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, and Creasakthi collaborated
together to conduct an innovative workshop for students on 23.03.22 to learn
the art. Participation in theatre and art boosts the sense of belonging and keeps
the students motivated at school .

The day started with our Respected Head of
School, Mrs. Jayu Ganesh felicitating our Chief Guests Mrs. Janaki Sabesh,
Mr. Victor Jayaraj and Mr. Yugesh. CAIE1 to CAIE3 students had a
storytelling session with Miss. Janaki Sabesh. The session was a participatory
and immersive experience that allowed the young learners to enjoy listening to
the story dynamically and entertainingly. CAIE4 and CAIE5 students had a
mime workshop with Mr. Victor Jayaraj, a famous filmmaker and a mime
specialist.

The workshop had basic formations with the body that allowed the
students to think out of the box. CAIE 6 to CAIE8 students had a workshop on
scriptwriting. It allowed the students to think about the stories and create scripts
for mass consumption like the cinemas. They also wrote the movement, actions,
and expressions of a character. The theatre workshop was both a sensory delight
and education for our young learners at CPSGS and helped them to explore
humanity, psychology, motivations, conflict, and resolution, thus encouraging
students to take risks and think out of the box.

The experience was so
immersive that all the participants were suffused with creative energy at the end
of it. It was indeed an enriching and fun filled activity for both students and
staffs involved.
