“You are the Owners” – Lieutenant General A Arun’s (YSM, SM, VSM) Message for the millennials

Christmas is around the corner and the kaleidoscopic season of Joy and giving has bloomed at CPS Global! Our students decided to share their joy and new year wishes with the Indian army soldiers serving within the country’s borders. Our lower and upper secondary students poured their excitement, wishes, and gratitude towards the Indian army into words, and wrapped them in a beautiful handmade case.

A representative team visited Lieutenant General A. Arun, Dakshin Bharat Area at the Military Headquarters in Park town and handed over these letters on 23rd December 2022. It is a heart-warming and ecstatic moment for us when the Lieutenant assured us that these wishes of ours would travel to the Kashmir border through an army dispatch.

Our students also got to interact with him and a few other army personnel and paid their respects at the war memorial to the martyred brave soldiers.

For we sleep peacefully at our homes as our Indian Army guards the frontiers.

Our students picked up pearls of wisdom and have come away inspired and motivated and Reflected on their trip to Park Town! Excerpts from the conversation

Q: Have you wanted to join the Army since you were young? (Kanshik 8A)

A:  big no – it was the only secure choice I had

Q: Do you ever regret joining the military – As you got an IIT -all India rank 13? (Rithika – A level)

A: ” No – there’s nothing to regret” (He believes he has grown exponentially even otherwise and also pointed out that we must never regret our decisions in the past and always look forward to what’s next ! )

Q: It seems very different for a military person to have a degree in creative writing. (Natania Ria 8A)

A:  Love to write short stories and think about how a good writer can make you dream!

Q:  You got shot and severely wounded 5 times. What kept you going? (Deeksha 8A)

A: It’s my job! – I’m being paid for it too. (flippant)

Q:  Who is your biggest inspiration? (Arthi 7B)

A: My inspirations are from everyone around me.  (He explained how we can respect people’s choices and be inspired by their small sacrifices too.) If you want your true inspiration look into the mirror!

Q: What do you like to do when you are free? What are your hobbies? (Aanya 8B)

A: I like to spend time with family and play with pets and enjoy music.

Q: You have won many awards in leadership, any tips for me as a leader? (Melanie IGYR 1)

A: Who is the owner of your school? We replied N. Devarajan Sir. He smiled and said technically yes, but in spirit- it’s you.  you need to take ownership and when you take ownership you grow as a leader.

Q: As a school leader, how can I help to instill patriotism amongst our schoolmates? (Rithika – A level)

A: We need to start small. It should be done by creating a mindset – to take responsibility and respect other individuals. When we respect our people and environment – it builds patriotism.

Wow! How inspiring it was to meet him in person! Thank You Sir and Thank You CPS for providing this opportunity!

We thank all our brave soldiers and every protector of the nation for safeguarding us! Wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy Happy New year.
