A good debate does not need raised voices but is achieved by an improved argument. The students of Lower Secondary stood to prove this right in the Debating Duel final round Inter house competition conducted this week. While it is always better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it, the teams gave their initial points for and against to put forth their viewpoints while taking in every word of the opponent’s views.
The rebuttal session was a display of intelligence and well -thought- out arguments coupled with logic. Each team member made their position stronger by quoting real life examples, stating flaws in the opponent’s views and building a counter argument with every word said.
