Vitamin deficiencies uncovered @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

Vitamins are the organic molecules essential in trace amounts. They are an integral part of the daily nutrients for growth, development, and proper metabolic function in the human body. The vitamins are of two types: fat-soluble are A, D, E, and K, and water-soluble are C & B complex. The essential nutrients must be obtained through diet because they cannot be synthesized sufficiently. When the requirement of a sufficient amount of vitamins is deficient in the human body it leads to deficiency diseases such as Hypocalcemia, Rickets, Beri Beri, Scurvy, Xeropthalmia, Osteomalacia, Pellagra, etc. The students created data sheets with their creativity mentioning facts, causes, symptoms, source food of vitamins, prevention, and treatment. During group discussion, each one explained the pictorial description of the deficiency disease assigned to them, helping each other learn and making the flipped classroom activity resourceful.
