Exploring Forces: Air, Water, and Gravity Adventures! @CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

Our first graders recently embarked on an exciting journey to explore the fascinating world of forces through hands-on activities! This time, they learned about the effects of air, water, and gravity in a fun and interactive way. With eager smiles, the students gathered in teams for their activity: blowing feathers. Each group received a feather and took turns blowing air at it to see how far they could make it travel. They giggled as the feathers danced and floated, discovering how air can create movement and lift objects!

Next, the students moved to the water station, where they played with balls in a bowl of water. They experimented by gently pushing the balls, observing how they floated and moved across the surface. The children were thrilled to learn that the shape of the ball and the water’s surface tension allowed it to glide effortlessly! To wrap up their exploration, the students engaged in a gravity activity using toy cars and a ramp setup. They took turns rolling their cars down the ramp, excitedly noting how gravity pulled the cars downward. They discussed how the angle of the ramp affected the speed of the cars.

This engaging experience helped students connect scientific concepts with real-life phenomena. Through laughter and teamwork, they uncovered how air, water, and gravity shape our world. The first graders had a blast learning about these fundamental forces while enjoying a day filled with exploration and fun!
