“Sudha Murthy’s life is a tapestry woven with threads of philanthropy, storytelling, and a deep love for humanity, inspiring generations to dream and do more.”
Our upper primary students this week celebrated Sudha Murthy—an author, philanthropist, and social reformer—by diving into her stories with enthusiasm. Through a series of interactive activities, they discovered the richness of her writing and the wisdom woven into her tales.
The celebration featured three of Sudha Murthy’s stories: “Payasam for a Bear” from Grandma’s Big Bag of Stories, “The Very Expensive Coconut” from The Magic Drum, and “Heart of Gold” from How I Taught My Mother to Read. Students analyzed literary devices, reflected on their favorite characters, and even designed posters featuring Murthy’s powerful quotes. Their creativity shone as they brought scenes and characters to life through art and comic strips, making the event both educational and enjoyable.
This celebration not only paid tribute to Sudha Murthy’s literary contributions but also sparked a deeper passion for reading and writing among our young learners.
