In a heartwarming demonstration of compassion and community engagement, the IB Year 1 students of CPS Global School Thirumazhisai recently embarked on a meaningful CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) activity. Driven by the spirit of ‘Joy of Giving,’ these students made a significant contribution by generously donating a 253-litre double-door Godrej refrigerator to the Primary Health Centre in Thirumazhisai.
Recognizing the vital need for a refrigerator at the health centre to store medicines, the students took the initiative. As part of the ‘Kalakriti’ art expo, the students organized a fundraising event to support their cause. During the fundraising event, they put up a stall that delved into the world of tie and dye transforming cloth tote bags into vibrant works of art, making these uniquely designed bags a centrepiece of their fundraising efforts. Alongside the stall, live counters adorned the arena with each counter depicting the students’ diverse talents and skills. From Mehendi to painting on pebbles, crafting key chains with Macrame thread, designing bookmarks, to the artistry of face painting, the students created a lively and electrifying atmosphere. Every stroke of paint and every meticulously tied knot arguably went beyond their creativity as they turned out to be a soulful representation of their commitment to making a positive impact.
Through their collective efforts, they successfully raised the necessary funds for this thoughtful contribution. Their hard work came to fruition when they officially handed over the refrigerator to the dedicated medical team at the health centre, a moment that radiated the ‘Joy of Giving’ in its truest form.
The ‘Joy of Giving’ was truly embodied through their actions, emphasizing the importance of empathy and social responsibility. The CPS Global School Thirumazhisai takes pride in the students’ efforts to make a meaningful impact on the well-being of others.
